The Glaskogen Nature Reserve in western Värmland offers over 300 kilometres of hiking trails through a beautiful, rolling landscape of lakes, waterways, woodland tarns and stunning forests.

Paddling

Hire a canoe or kayak for your next adventure. Choose from shorter circular routes for a few hours on the water, or longer trips with overnight stays in our beautifully situated wilderness shelters.

Boating & Fishing

Enjoy fishing both summer and winter. Our fishing permit gives you access to around 80 lakes and woodland tarns. We also offer fishing equipment for sale and boats available to hire.

Enjoy scenic cycling routes through the Glaskogen Nature Reserve, where quiet gravel roads wind their way alongside beautiful lakes and through the forest, offering a truly wonderful nature experience.

Step into the untouched wilderness of Glaskogen on a guided wildlife tour, where you’ll have the chance to encounter the king of the forest in its natural habitat.

Together, we’ll look out for moose, wildlife, birdlife and signs of predators, while learning more about the surrounding nature and landscape. A peaceful and authentic experience for anyone wanting to get closer to the wild.

Café Carl – Where Great Flavours Meet the Forest

In the heart of Glaskogen’s peaceful surroundings, you’ll find Café Carl – a place where nature finds its way onto the plate as well. Here, homemade bakes, rustic dishes and locally sourced ingredients come together in a warm and welcoming setting, just a stone’s throw from forest and lake.

Glaskogen Wilderness Campsite

In Lenungshammar, you’ll find 63 beautifully situated pitches for motorhomes and campervans – right in the heart of the forest, always close to the water, and each with its own fire pit. There are also plenty of lovely spots for camping in tents.

Cabins

Experience the peace and quiet of staying in a cabin surrounded by nature. We offer everything from simple camping cabins and self-catering cottages to charming old forest crofts. We also help arrange privately owned cabins within the nature reserve.

Campsites for Groups

We offer dedicated campsites for school groups and larger parties, with plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors together. There are also designated campsites marked on the Glaskogen map that do not require advance booking.
